The state of Iowa requires a fee of $50 to form a C-Corp or S-Corp, and a fee of $50 to form an LLC (Limited Liability Company).

Iowa maintenance requirements for C-Corps and S-Corps
Iowa companies must file a report with the Secretary of State every two years. The first report must be delivered to the Secretary of State between January 1st and April 1st of the year following the calendar year in which a domestic corporation was incorporated.

The fee for filing the report is $45; however, online filings are discounted to $30.

IA businesses are required to file a report to determine liability, Form 60-126. You may go to http://www.iowaworkforce.org/ui/stawrs/aux2stawrs.htm to file this. If required, you will need to file an Unemployment Registration Number before doing business. Also, if you plan on having employees, you will be required to file an Employer's Contribution & Payroll Report (Quarterly Reporting Form), Form 65-5300 to the Iowa Workforce Development department.
